All advocates, facilitators, and employees of the Greater Equality and Advocacy Association (GEAA, Inc.) are NOT: licensed clinicians, licensed psychologists, licensed professional counselors (LPCs), licensed school psychologist or licensed mastery level social workers (L-MSWs). All program participants will not be clinically diagnosed during any time that they participate in any GEAA, Inc. program. GEAA, Inc. participants will not receive prescriptions or medication adjustments or recommendations for such activity from anyone associated with the organization. However, all advocates, facilitators, and employees hold the appropriate degrees, certifications, and/or professional memberships that deem these individuals most appropriate to provide services of a psychological nature (psychosocial education) within the scope of employment as in compliance with SC Code 40-55-60; SC Code 40-55-70; SC Code 40-55-90 – sub points 12-13. GEAA, Inc. practices and procedures are in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability ACT (HIPPA) Privacy Regulations (45 CFR Parts 160 and 164) and SC Code 44-22-90; 19-11-95; 40-75-190 which protects all personal health information obtained by medical and mental health professionals.
